For 27 years, Hill Construction has specialized in reinforce concrete construction. It has been involved in the construction of more than 17,000 units including houses, townhouses, walk-ups, apartments, buildings, parking lots, bridges, avenues and shopping centers. The company has grown into Puerto Rico's largest reinforced concrete subcontractor.
Hill Construction's track record attest to the reliability of their work, fulfilling and exceeding time constraint. Their solid financial capability allows them to undertake both large and small industrial, commercial and residential projects. About 1,100 full time employees provide solid teamwork to satisfy the most demanding construction needs. Close to 60% of Hill Construction's supervisors are seasoned veterans with more than 25 years of experience in the field.
The company is outfitted with top equipment to provide cost-efficient, high-quality performance. It has 42 motor cranes, between 50 and 60 motor vehicles and 13 Schwing concrete pumps that pump 170 cubic yards per hour. At the moment, Hill Construction builds more than 50 houses per week with a total of about 5,000 yards of concrete per week, excluding concrete pumped with other companies. In addition, it uses close to 200 tons of steel per week in the construction of its projects.
Hill Construction's reputation has been forces on being able to deliver its projects on time. When meeting job requirements, the company focuses on the successful completion of the project, no matter what the obstacles. As Tom Hill, Sr. says, "We have never left a project unfinished; never had a failure on a project. We don't keep taking work if we can't produce it. Quality control is very important to us."
This experience has earned them the trust of the largest developers on the Island, who have chosen to work exclusively with Hill Construction on their projects. Tom Hill, Sr. states, "We have never lost a builder. Some builders have been with us for over 27 years while others have come in the last years. We plan to continue doing what we do best: reinforce concrete."
LEADING THE WAY IN CONCRETE PUMPING
Concrete Pumping Inc. was created in 1989 to provide reliable, fast concrete pumping to general contractors. In addition, its is the exclusive distributor and service dealer in Puerto Rico for Schwing America, Inc.
These modern pumps offer rapid set-up features and efficiency in pumping as they combine speed and maneuverability, especially when constrained by a confined site, previously too cramped for conventional units. Tommy Hill, Vice-President of Hill Construction, says "We were the pioneers in Puerto Rico of that type of modern pump. They are fast, and dependable."
The pumping division, which employees 45 full-time employees, has a total of 8 pumps that serve a steady clientele of between 30 and 40 contractors on the Island. In addition, the company rents the units by the hour. Pumping approximately 5,500 cubic yards per week in rentals.
